Fun crafts with the Polymer Clay TV Design Team art jewelry, a Beach Plaque and a mixed media trinket box

McCaw Feather Necklace with Cindi McGee

Use Red, Yellow and Blue polymer clay or Makin’s Clay® to make an assortment of both sizes of feather using the CreateAlong.com Blowing in the Wind Feather Mold.

Cut jewelry wire to the desired length. Alternating between a green glass bead and then a feather, begin mounting to jewelry wire by making a small ball of clay in the same color of each feather, place beneath the wire. Then gently press the feather over the ball of clay to adhere the two pieces. Fresh clay will stick to fresh clay without additional adhesive. If your feathers have started to dry just slightly, moisten with a touch of water. If adhesive is needed, use Beacon® 527 to mount feather to ball of fresh clay.

Napkin rings and decoupaged box with Darlene Madden.

Choose napkins to upcycle and raw wooden box to paint, and decoupage a paper napkin on interior of box.
Condition clay and punch out mandala designs using circle cookie cutters, impress monogram letters with rubber stamps, paint and shape to napkin ring, bake right on wooden or metal (not plastic) napkin ring.
I used the multi leaf mold for top of wooden box, along with a pretty metal flower and metal leaves under the clay ones, I always add found jewelry pieces to my designs. (seems to be my addiction).

Starfish Buttons beach plaque by Pat Krauchune.

Create Buttons using Buttons Galore mold, tint with alcohol inks and form onto a starfish shaped base.
Use a wooden fence, or make your own using On the Fence silicone mold.
Paint paint stirring sticks and glue together to form the base. Add the rest of your mixed media pieces including shells and gravel or sand from your favorite beach!

Birds of a Feather mixed media shrine with Donna Renee Arrington.

I love turning trash to treasure...Found this piece at my local thrift store a while ago.
Gather supplies including the Feather your Nest Add on kit.
Next a cut out some feathers using my electronic cutting machine. Paint real goose feathers with gold paint and attach various bits and bobs. Using the feather mold and premo clay, created a few green feathers to mix with the real and computer cut feather shapes. Arrange everything and glue.

More fun with polymer clay silkscreens - create a canvas and a cigar box purse!

Today we have 2 projects from the Design Team at Polymer Clay TV, Pat created a fun piece of canvas wall art and Suzanne made a cigar box purse with decopage and silkscreening.

These projects show you how you can expand polymer clay beyond making small items like jewelry and into using it as a tool to create whatever is in your head. Want to make a painting that has dimension? Use your clay to create parts that you can glue onto a canvas like Pat did here, or paint your whole picture with polymer clay like Suzanne did in this class- link here.

Have an idea for a fun accessory? Why not completely personalize it with clay parts and pieces like Suzanne did with the cigar box?

Feather Your Nest polymer clay supply kit project ideas from the Design Team at Polymer Clay TV

Today we are sharing a few fun project ideas using the Tool Collection and Add On Kit, which you can get together at CreateAlong.com.

Suzanne created a stunning bird sculpture, Pat created a cute stone house, Cindi made a beautiful necklace, and Darlene made a gorgeous mixed media piece of art. Stay tuned- we have 4 more designers and lots more to come!

And Katie made a video for you on how to store your silkscreens. Enjoy it here.

This is Suzanne Ivester's bird sculpture, she fondly named him Skipper. She used the Add-On kit feathers to make a tail, and the driftwood for a base. His wings are silkscreened.

Cindi McGee created this beautiful necklace from Makin's, the "other" polymer clay!
Full video tutorial of how she created this project using the Createalong.com Peacock Feather Silkscreen is here.

Darlene Madden used the full peacock feather silkscreen design and cut it out, placing it into a frame with other mixed media and polymer clay embellishments.

Pat Krauchune made this fun stone house with glass windows using several mosaic techniques, molds, and silkscreens for texture on the bricks. She has several ideas for how to create the stone textures, and even created a pattern and made the base from MDF so it is nice and sturdy. Read more about it on her blog here.

How to do detailed but easy projects with polymer clay- A Feather Bib necklace and a Steampunk Thingy

Today we have two special projects from Chris and Pat.

Chris made this beautiful necklace using just one mold, her fingers, and some paint. But look how pretty it turns out. Antiquing really can make the difference between your piece looking AMAZING instead of just "finished."

This project was created using the MULTI FEATHER MOLD.

Pat created this Steampunk "Thingy" (isn't that fun?) using a block of wood for the base and including parts and pieces along with polymer clay. You can get a lot of little washers, nuts and bolts, cheap LED lights and other such fun stuff at your local hardware store. If you want to get really technical, you could take this idea and run with it- make something that lights up, or stick a music box inside!

You can create your textures using the METAL STAMP SET.
