How to make your own polymer clay bezels with textured bottoms

Today's video features a really simple technique to make your own bezels out of clay, and they have a textured bottom- unlike many of the commercially available bezels. Imagine the possibilities! You can use your favorite stamping and texture tools to create bezels that are just your style.

Then Kira goes on to show you some fun ways to highlight the design and fill with resin to really show it off. Here are the tools used for texture in this tutorial:

Stamping and Extruding the easy and fun way on Polymer Clay TV

I don't know about you but there is nothing like some new tools to get my imagination flowing. Oh the possibilities! These new Bohemian Rhapsody stampers are just the thing to get the creative juices flowing. They come in a set of 5 discs with a squeegee and rubber tipped pouncer.

I just started working with these stampers and I am having so much fun. I love the idea of peek a boo pendants which I show on Polymer Clay TV. The one in the photo that has the black clay peeking through is what I mean by a peek a boo pendant. I think I will be adding some resin to that design when I am done with it. I love that look! I love playing with the discs on the extruder with 20 designs to choose from holy moly are their a lot of possibilities. I show a super easy way to change out discs in the middle of a project in the video as well.

Here is the video for your viewing pleasure. LOL

New Extruder for Polymer Clay and tips for using it and storing your discs

Today Ilysa did a great video on how to use our new polymer clay extruder. If you are curious about extruding clay, it's so much fun and you can make uniform shapes to build canes, twist around objects, and use for sculpting. It makes everything from snakes to triangles to clay "spaghetti!" We've bundled it up with our new set of wood-handle ball stylus tools- which are pretty cool because you can design the handles yourself. You can add alcohol inks or paints to color them, cover them with cane slices, or as Ilysa shows you- extrude some colorful clay to build a handle!

This is a great way to distinguish your own tools if you travel with them to guild meetings or classes, too. Or- why not make a set to gift to someone?

Here are some photos that Ilysa did playing around with the extruder pieces. You can keep adding and building onto a piece. Also cut the end of the extruded piece off like a cane and you will be surprised by how beautiful it is too!
